Iraq capable of making nuclear bomb: IISS

By Our Correspondent

LONDON, Sept 9: The London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) says in a report on Iraq that Baghdad possesses almost all the technology needed to build a nuclear bomb.

But the report adds that Saddam’s ability to produce and deliver weapons of mass destruction is “severely diminished” by comparison with the period just before the 1991 invasion.

The IISS warns that all Saddam needs is weapons grade nuclear material - which he could feasibly buy on the international black market or be given by a friendly foreign power.
