KARACHI, Sept 3: The chief secretary of Sindh, K. B. Rind, has said the government has taken notice of complaints against wrong distribution of Zakat and Ushr, and the system is being revamped and a better strategy adopted.

He expressed these views while talking to different delegations which called on him in his office here on Tuesday.

The delegation of Anjuman-i-Falah-i-Millat told the chief secretary about the lapse of Zakat fund due to irregularities and negligence at district and local Zakat chairmen levels. In this connection, a report was also submitted to him in which it was apprehended that if zakat was not distributed in time in the Landhi sub-division, it would also stand lapsed. On the complaint, Mr Rind ordered an immediate inquiry.—PPI
