OECD moot begins on 18th

ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: Pakistan will raise the issues of transfer pricing and interpretation of international treaties of double taxation at the 7th annual moot of Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development a senior official told Dawn on Tuesday.

The 3-day conference would begin from September 18-20 in Paris. Pakistan is an active member of the OECD. The Pakistan delegation will be led by member direct taxes, Vakil Ahmed Khan.

Explaining further, the official said that the conference would discuss the methods how to prevent the transfer pricing and to protect the legitimate rights of under-developed countries to tax the income of companies of developed countries having permanent establishment in the under-developed countries.

Islamabad would present its case of transfer pricing at the forum to seek ways for its redressal, which has been causing loss to the national exchequers.

Pakistan is recently facing the issue of transfer pricing with some countries resulting in loss to the national kitty.
