By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 3: The general body meeting of the members of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Sindh-Balochistan Zone) on Tuesday appreciated the CBR announcement of Sept 1, 2002, which will expand the gold category holders to enable them to get sales tax refund more expeditiously.

Aptma Sindh-Balochistan Zone chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Vohra in a letter addressed to Mohammad Ramzan Bhatti, member sales tax CBR, appreciated the announcement as this will reduce pending refund claims.

The inclusion of listed companies in gold category, he said, was a novel idea. All listed companies are documented. This will encourage documentation of economy, he added.

Mr Vohra maintained that the exporting companies maintaining computerized record of their transactions has been included for quick disbursement of refunds. It is suggested that details of approved computerized programme and formats to be maintained be provided to enable claim for early receipt of refunds.
