Langer takes first round lead

MUNICH (Germany), Aug 30: German veteran Bernard Langer fired an eight-under-par 64 to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the 1.8-million-dollar Munich Open Thursday.

South African Trevor Immelmann sits fifth on 66.

American John Daly, who took the honours here last year, had a shaky start and could only manage a two-under-par round of 70 to leave him in 48th place overall.
