CHARSADDA, Aug 30: Saeed Khan, joint candidate of PML (Q), PPP (S) and MMA for PF-18 Charsadda-2, and son of Nisar Mohammad, a former senator and federal minister, has said the people of his constituency were sick and tired of the traditional politicians because they had given them nothing except hollow slogans.
Addressing public meetings at Mohammad Nari in Charsadda and Subhan Khwar in Shabqadar on Friday, he said that people had got great political vision and they could no longer be fooled by mere slogans.
He said after the creation of Pakistan, the only aim of the political parties must be to ameliorate the lot of the poor. Those who claim to be fighting for the rights of Pakhtoons and ideologies were in fact hoodwinking the masses.
He said it was time the poor masses realised the importance of the power of vote and cast it in favour of the deserving candidate.
He predicted that in Charsadda the tripartite alliance would prove successful in the election because it had the support not only of the poor masses but also of the religious scholars and the Pakhtoons had great respect for their religion and its leaders.
He said if elected, he would work for alleviating poverty, reducing unemployment and tackling other such problems.
He said his approach to politics was a direct one, not a complicated one adopted by the traditional politician who claim to be fighting for principles but in actual fact, had done nothing to serve the people.
