HYDERABAD, Aug 28: The power consumers of Afandi town on Tuesday evening besieged the area’s sub-divisional office of Hesco, burnt tyres and ransacked the office.

Raising slogans against Hesco, they were protesting against the frequent power breakdowns.

The protesters also held the staff of Hesco hostage by locking the office from outside.

However, the protesters dispersed when the police rushed to the spot.

SNP-B PROTEST: A group of activists of the Sindh National Party (Bhambro group) continued their hunger strike outside the press club for the third consecutive day here on Wednesday.

They are protesting against the arrest of party vice-chairman Agha Shamshad Mughal.
