Nigeria wants solution of Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD, Aug 25: Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Pakistan and India to end standoff on the Line of Control for peace in the region.

The Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, A.D. Idris Waziri, said this on Sunday while talking to mediamen at his residence. He said: “Nigeria wants quick resolution of Kashmir issue through diplomatic channels and dialogue”.

He said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved peacefully and the present military tension between the two neighbouring countries is a potential threat to the stability of the region. The high commissioner appealed to the UN and the world community to take immediate notice of military stand off between the two neighbours.—APP
