HYDERABAD, Aug 21: A close circuit television has been installed at the main entrance of the Central Jail Hyderabad on late Tuesday night to check drug trafficking and smuggling of banned items to the prisoners.
A jail source confirmed that it was done under the directives of the Sindh IG, Prisons, Brigadier Nisar Mehar.
He said that close circuit televisions would be installed in other prisons of Sindh as well.
The purpose of installation of close circuit television at the main entrance was to check the goods carried by the prisoners and officials.
Banned items and drugs including charas and heroin have often been recovered from the barracks of the prisoners while searching them. The activities at the main entrance will now be monitored by the deputy superintendent jail or another senior official round the clock.
