NAWABSHAH, Aug 19: More than 20 tail-end, Abadgar, growers of Jado Minor, Malwah Branch, Mirrukun Branch and Jamal Shah Branch of irrigation sub-division, Qazi Ahmed, said they would stage a hunger strike, if water was not provided to their fields within three days.

Led by Shahnawaz Khoso and Haji Din Muhammad Mehar, the abadgars told the newsmen at Qazi Ahmed that their fields were getting barren due to non-availability of water.

They alleged that the officials of Dad irrigation division were selling water to the influential growers.

PROTEST: More than 100 residents of Jam Sahab town, observed a protest sit-in and hunger strike, against non-availability of potable water in the town for a month, at Jam Sahab on Sunday.

Led by UC Naib Nazim, Abdullah Sher, the protesters took out a rally and chanted slogans against the concerned officers. The town remained closed due to strike. The protesters said the protest would continue till the provision of water.
