DADU, Aug 19: The growers of the Dadu Taluka and activists of political parties took out a protest rally on Monday against the water shortage in the lower Noor Wah and three other waterways, which originate from the Dadu Canal.
They marched through the main roads of the town and staged a demonstration for two hours outside the press club.
They were led by Ghulam Mustafa, Wali Mohammed, Mohammed Qasim, and Ali Sher.
Speaking to the demonstrators, they said that the influential landlords of the area were stealing water with the connivance of irrigation officials.
They complained that the tail end of the lower Noor Wah from watercourses No8 to 22 were running dry.
