Scholar dies in road accident

FAISALABAD, Aug 17: Renowned religious scholar Allama Abdur Rasheed Arshad was killed in a road accident here on Friday night. He was 72.

He was reportedly on his way home on his scooter when a rashly-driven bus hit him. He died before reaching the nearest hospital.

A large number of people attended his funeral prayer. He is survived by a wife, three sons, Tahir Rasheed, Zahid Rasheed and Hamid Rasheed, and three daughters.
