PESHAWAR, Aug 16: NWFP Governor, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, on Friday visited the Gomal Medical College, Dera Ismail Khan.

The college has been recently shifted to its new premises of former Elementary College for Women. The governor inspected the building. The principal, Dr Fida Mohammad told the governor that the present building was sufficient for the requirements of the college till the construction of its own building.

On this occasion, governor announced a grant of Rs five million for the renovation of present building.

He was accompanied by District Nazim Dera Ismail Khan, Maj Latifullah Khan Alizai, provincial minister for revenue Aminullah Khan Gandapur, principal of the college, Dr Fida Mohammad Marwat and others.

Earlier, various political figures and notables called on the governor at Circuit House.

Former MPAs-Javed Akbar Khan, Abdul Halim Qasuria Murid Kazim, Sanaullah Khan Miankhel, Fatehullah Khan Miankhel, former MNA, Umar Farooq Miankhel, Ikramullah Khan Gandapur had one-to-one meeting with governor.

During these meetings, the present political scenario and the issues of the areas came under discussion.

After the meetings with these notables the governor announced a grant of Rs five million for Mela Ground in Dera Ismail Khan.
