PHF rules out changes

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Aug 13: No change, neither in the national hockey team nor in its management will be made till the end of the Champions Trophy, despite the team suffered 7-1 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the Commonwealth Games, declared a Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) office.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Cologne, Germany, from Aug 30 to Sept 7.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Brig. Mussaratullah Khan who arrived from England said Monday that the criteria of making any change was the entire performance of and not just the match against New Zealand.

He said that the critics, on the one hand were calling manager Col. Zafari an old man but on the other hand they were claiming Nur Khan, who was even older, as the best man to run the affairs of hockey.

He said that in last Commonwealth Games Pakistan got fifth position and now the third which was an improvement.
