LAHORE, Aug 13: The Lahore District Transport Officer has suspended the POL supplies to the City District Government officers pending settlement of accounts of previous supplies.

The transport officer has been constrained to suspend the POL supplies to the CDG officers as they have been drawing their quotas without settlement of accounts for the past several months. The accounts of the POL supplies worth around Rs15 million await settlement at present.

The CDG officers are authorized to draw four to 10 litres of petrol daily for use in their official vehicles. A sizeable number of officials have stopped using official transport following the suspension of the POL supplies. Others are paying for the fuel from their own pockets.
