HYDERABAD, Aug 12: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Monday issued bailable warrant against the SHO, Chambar police station, for a sum of Rs10,000.
The warrant was issued on a constitutional petition of a hari, Dost Ali, resident of Tando Allahyar.
Advocate Ayaz Latif Palijo represented the petitioner, who cited the SHO, Hyderabad DPO, and others respondents.
The SHO did not attend the court despite issuance of notice.
The petitioner said he had been cultivating lands of Lakhee Rind and other Rind landlords.
He said the men of a landlord, Mithoo Rind, had been threatening him for the last several months to leave the locality.
On May 10, he said, Abdul Karim, Omar Panhwar, Rafik Rind and two unknown persons, armed with shotguns, pistols and lathis, attacked and took him to a sugarcane field and subjected him to sodomy after beating him mercilessly. Later, they inflicted him burn injuries.
He said his medical examination, conducted on May 12, proved that he had burn injuries on different parts of his body.
The petitioner said police registered an FIR after the news appeared in newspapers and due to pressure of local community.
He alleged the police of bias attitude as none of the accused, mentioned in the FIR, were arrested though one and half a month had passed.
He deplored that due to political and feudal influence of the culprits, the police had been trying to dispose off the case as B-class, adding that the culprits were issuing threats of dire consequences to him.
The petitioner said that on June 18, he went to the SHO and the DSP concerned and told them that the nominated accused in his case were roaming about freely but no action was taken against them.
He said the culprits were criminals and influential people and alleged that some policemen were playing in their hands. He said that after his complaints, the police officers got annoyed and started a series of actions against him.
He prayed the court to direct the respondents to entrust the investigation of his case to the Crime Branch and restrain the SHO, Chambar police station, form playing in the hands of the accused and other culprits.
He also requested the court to direct the respondent policemen not to harass him and arrest the accused.
