KARACHI, Aug 12: The Jinnah Society launched a CD and a website on Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Monday in the Governor’s House.

Liaquat Merchant of the Jinnah Society said the CD contained all the relevant documents and images about the founder of Pakistan. “It is not easy to understand Mohammad Ali Jinnah. In order to understand him, we must read his speeches in their entirety,” he said.

He added that successive governments in Pakistan had tried to present only those parts from the speeches of the Quaid-i-Azam which suited their purpose. The CD and the website would make almost all the matter about the Quaid-i-Azam available to people.

Sharifuddin Pirzada said the twentieth century had produced giants among the leaders of the world. He added that the Quaid-i-Azam had been one of the prominent leaders of the world.

The Sindh governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, said that in his book, A Verdict on India, Beverly Nicholas had described his meeting with the Quaid-i-Azam as a meeting with a giant.

The launching ceremony was followed by a sneak preview of the CD. Ameena Syed of the Oxford University Press also spoke on the occasion.
