Navy retain canoeing title

KARACHI, Aug 10: Pakistan Navy canoeists maintained their domination in the eighth National Canoeing Championship by scooping up 14 golds to retain their title at Defence Marina Club Saturday.

Besides 14 golds, Navy bagged a silver. Army Water Sports Club finished runners-up while Sindh finished third.

200m Kayak-2: 1. Riaz Ahmed/Munir Ahmed (Navy); 2. Maqsood Ahmed/ Sangeen Khan (Sindh); 3. Usman/Javed (Punjab).

200m Kayak-1: 1. Muhammad Naseem (Navy); 2. Amin Khan (Sindh); 3. Raja Basharat (Islamabad).

200m Kayak-4: 1. Navy (Riaz/Munir/ Naveed/Nadeem); 2. Sindh (Maqaood/ Zahid/Faisal/Asghar); 3. Army (Dilshad/ Khalil/Munir/Javed).

200m Canadian C-1: 1. Nasir Iqbal (Navy); 2. Liaquat Ali (Army); 3. Imran Vero (Sindh).

200m Canadian C-2: 1. Nadeemullah/Nasar Ahmed (Navy); 2. Abbas Baloch/Asim Shah (Sindh); 3. Sajjad/Munir Ahmed (Army).

500m Kayak-1: 1. Asad Farooq (Navy); 2. Ghulam Rasool (Sindh); 3. M. Rizwan (Islamabad).
