Javed excels
LAHORE, Aug 6: Two matches were decided in the Lahore district Independence Day hockey championship at the Punjab University Old Campus ground Tuesday.
Ittehad Club, Manga Mandi defeated Cantt Friends 5-2.
For the winners, Javed scored two goals while Zahid, Nadeem and Rafaqat added a goal each. For the losers, Amjad and Khurram scored a goal each.
Pak Hockets struggled to beat Mohammedan Club 2-1. Former international Abdur Rasheed scored both the goals for the winning side. Ahsan struck the solitary goal for the losing team.
