One dies, 40 injured in accident

THATTA, Aug 4: One person was killed and 40 others were injured, 25 of them critically, when the truck they were travelling in turned turtle on the National Highway, some 24km off Thatta, on Sunday afternoon.

The truck (JT-2787), carrying pilgrims from Gharo to Noorani Dargah at coastal town Buhara, overturned when its tie-rod was broken.

Aamoon, son of Ibrahim Jokhio, died on the spot.

Edhi ambulances rushed to the site of the accident from Karachi to take the seriously injured people to hospital.

Noor Bano, Abdul Ghani, Yaqoob, Fazal Din, Habibullah, Yousuf, Zahoor were among the 25 critically injured.
