Asghar makes early exit


MANCHESTER, July 28: Pakistan boxing medal hope light-welterweight Asghar Ali Shah was beaten in the preliminary bout by Scotland’s Kevin Anderson on points at the Commonwealth Games Sunday.

Pakistani officials were banking on Asghar who was the sole medal winner of the contingent at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Games when he grabbed the silver in lightweight category.
