SHEIKHUPURA, July 28: Three people were killed and 46 others sustained injuries, two of them serious, on Sunday in a traffic mishap on the Faisalabad Road. A jam-packed bus (JA-5113) of the New Khan company was on its way to Faisalabad. Near the Faisalabad by-pass, the speeding bus skidded off the road and collided head-on with an oncoming truck (86-T) of sensitive agency. Three bus passengers — Ali Hassan, Ali Asghar and an unidentified person died instantly while 46 others received injuries. Those injured include, Aslam, Azmat Bibi, Sughran Bibi, Atiqur Rehman, Rashid Ahmad, Qaiser, Bushra Bibi, Shah Zeb, Arman Shah, Asad, Wasim, Sabir, Amin and Zahid. Waqas and Afzal were shifted to a Lahore hospital for their serious condition.

CYCLIST KILLED: A cyclist was knocked down and killed on Sunday by a recklessly driven tractor-trolley on the Hafizabad Road near Chak Shah Muhammad, eight kilometres from here.

Yaseen (25) was on his way home after selling the milk in city areas when the incident happened. The deceased was the only son of his parents and father of two minor children.

Saddar police are going into the matter.
