RAWALPINDI, July 26: Punjab government has provided 55,000 bags of wheat worth Rs50 million for the poor and destitute and drought affected in Rawalpindi district.
This official assistance will be distributed in all the Tehsils of the district through the local government representatives and officials.
Punjab Revenue Minister Malik Mohammad Aslam had instructed the local government officials to provide two trucks of wheat bags to each union council so that the assistance was equally distributed in all parts of the district.
He asked the officials to specifically check the quality and weight of wheat.
Food department officials said wheat would be stored in the food godowns of Kahuta, Taxila, Gujar Khan and Murree.
