VEHARI, July 26: A local court on Friday handed down death sentence to a convict and fined Rs100,000 and life-term to two others with a fine of Rs285,000 collectively in a murder case.

They will undergo six-month imprisonment if they default in the payment of fine. The judge released their two co-accused — Falak Sher and Murid Hussain — for lack of evidence.

According to the prosecution, Mumtaz Hussain, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Asgher along with Falak Sher and Murid Hussain had killed Allah Ditta Pathan of Chak 44/WB, Thingi Colony.
