HYDERABAD, July 25: The Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, has announced a special package for brilliant students of various faculties of the university to improve the quality of education.

Under the package, announced by Vice Chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmad Chandio while presiding over a meeting held on Wednesday, Rs5 million have been earmarked to provide 40 scholarships and 40 free-ships.

As many as 15 scholarships will be given at graduate level which will be followed by scholarship for each term while 20 brilliant students will be exempted from the payment of fees.

Ten brilliant students of M.Sc will be paid Rs1,000 stipend per month and 20 students will be given a concession of Rs2,000 in fees per term.

The supervisor will be paid Rs5,000 per student on the completion of M.Sc while Rs5,000 have been reserved for the purchase of research equipment.

Financial assistance will also be given to 15 Ph.D students while the expert guide for Ph.D will be paid Rs25,000 on the completion of the Ph.D degree by a Ph.D scholar. In addition to this, Rs15,000 have also been earmarked for the purchase of research equipment.—Bureau
