ISLAMABAD, July 23: Children’s Resource International (CRI) on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Rawalpindi district government to introduce early childhood education methodology in 19 schools of the marganalized sections of the society.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the CRI and the Rawalpindi district council suggested to establish literacy centres in the government schools of Dhok Munshi, Dhok Hassu and Taxila. District Nazim Raja Tariq Kiani signed the agreement on behalf of the district government.
Funded by the USAID, the programme will aim at encouraging student participation in the pre-primary and grade one classes.
The CRI, working with the parents’ participation in the classrooms, will start adult literacy classes. The organization will also collaborate with private schools in the marginalized clusters.
It will also provide international trainers to train 350 teachers and administrative staff from both public and private sector.
