FBI blamed for anti-Muslim graffiti

DETROIT, July 23: A US Muslim advocacy group on Monday accused federal agents of scrawling anti-Muslim graffiti last week in the home of an Arab-American man arrested in Detroit allegedly carrying 12 million dollars in phony cashier cheques.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations said in a statement that members of a team of FBI and US secret service agents wrote the words “Islam is Evil” and “Christ is King” on a Muslim prayer calendar in the home of suspect Omar Shishani.

The FBI last week said Jordanian-born Shishani, 47, was detained on Wednesday when he arrived at Detroit’s airport from Indonesia, and that his home was searched on Thursday.—Reuters
