HYDERABAD, July 22: A representative delegation of Anju-man Tajiran-i-Sindh, Hyderabad zone, called on the provincial minister for local government, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, the other day and submitted a detailed memorandum on the decrepit condition of the historic city of Hyderabad.

The delegation, comprising Zakir Bin Zahid and others, informed the minister that Hyderabad was the second biggest city of Sindh but it had been totally neglected by successive governments in respect of development schemes.

The memorandum proposed the construction of overhead bridges at specific points in the city as it was the second biggest commercial and industrial city of the province.

The minister is reported to have asked the DCO to submit a detailed report, on the points raised in the memorandum, within seven days.

The senior vice president of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Akram Arain, the executive committee member, Haji Naseeruddin, and others were also present at the meeting and supported the delegation’s demands.
