7-wicket haul by Azeem

KARACHI, July 19: Two more matches were decided Friday in KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 cricket tournament 2002 the second phase of the competition.

At KCCA Stadium after a nail bitting finish the match between Zone-IV Whites and Zone-VII Blues ended in a tie both team scored 194 runs.

Batting first Zone VII Blues scored 194 runs in the 49.5 overs with some fine batting by Daniyal Ahsan who scored 71 with the help of six boundaries and Muhammad Faisal made 36.

In reply Zone-IV Whites managed to score 194 for the loss of nine wickets. Nasir Aziz (43), Asad Ahmed Ali (40) and Aamir Shah (27) were the main run getters.

Both team got equal points. Nasir Aziz of Zone-IV Whites declared Man of the Match.

In second match played at DHA Ground Zone III Blues defeated Zone IV Blues by five runs . Batting first Zone III Blues scored 135 runs, Salman Yousuf (24), Ramiz Raja (18) and Abrarul Haq (18) runs were their main scores. Off spinner Azeem Ashraf grabbed seven wickets for 46 runs in 16.2 overs with 3 maidens.

In reply Zone IV Blues were bowled out for 130. Wasiq Ahmed of Zone IV Blues scored 49 runs. Muhammad Usman and Moshin Sultan took three wickets for 8 and 26 runs.
