DADU, July 19: The SHO of Budhapur police station was suspended by the DPO, Dadu, on Friday when a girl complained to the DPO that the SHO had detained her, and had been raping her since the last six months as a result of which she had become pregnant.
The DPO also appointed the TPO, Kotri, as inquiry officer and ordered him to register a case against the SHO, Budha Pur police station.
The girl, Farzana Shoro, daughter of Lakha Dino Shoro, a resident of Khanote arrived at the ADPO office, Dadu, along with her sister and complained to the DPO, Dadu, Captain Mohammed Tahir Naveed, that the SHO, Budha Pur police station, Sub-inspector Allah Rakhio Dasti, had raped her when she had complained to the parents of the SHO that he had detained her father and had forced him to keep silent, otherwise he would have him sent to jail in fake cases.
She further complained that the SHO had kidnapped her and had detained her in his house in Jamshoro town and had raped her continuously since the last six months and had made her pregnant. She said that was already married to a man called Gul Mohammed and they even had a son.
The DPO after receiving the complaint suspended SHO Rakhio Dasti and appointed the TPO/ASP Kotri, Sharjeel Ahmed Kharl, to investigate the matter. The DPO also handed over the girl to the TPO, Kotri.
TPO’S VERSION: Later, this correspondent contacted the TPO, Kotri, Sharjeel Ahmed Kharl. He said that he had initiated the enquiry and had recorded the statements of the girl, Farzana Shoro, and had suspended the SHO.
The TPO said that Farzana had been a servant of the SHO since several months. He said that she was the daughter of the friend of the suspended SHO.
He said that she was already married to a 60-year old man, Gul Mohammed, who lived in Hyderabad.
SUSPENDED SHO’S VERSION: When this correspondent contacted the suspended SHO, Budha Pur police station, Sub-inspector Rakhio Dasti, he said that the girl, Farzana, was the daughter of his friend, Lakha Dino, and was a servant in his house in Jamshoro town when he was the line officer at the Minni police line, Kotri, about six months back.
He said that he had not raped the girl but had terminated her from service about three months back.
He said that she was accusing him of rape in retaliation for having removed her from service.
VICTIM’S VERSION: When this correspondent contacted the girl, Farzana Shoro, she said that she had a son, and added that when she had gone to visit her father from her husband’s house, she was kidnapped by the SHO who raped her.
She denied that she had ever been a servant at the house of the SHO. However, she was detained in his house.
