HYDERABAD July 19: Justice Ghulam Rabbani of Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Friday allowed a woman to go with her parents when she expressed her willingness to do so.
The woman told the court that the man, who had filed an application for her recovery from the house of her parents, was not her husband but brother-in-law.
Shujaat Ali filed an application before the court, saying that his wife, Shahjehan, was being held in wrongful detention by his in-laws. He cited Jalal Hajano as respondent.
He claimed that his wife married him on June 13 against the wishes of her family.
The applicant claimed that on June 15 his father- in-law, Jalal Hajano, came to his house and said that his wife was seriously ill therefore his daughter should be allowed to go with him. Ali said that he allowed her to accompany her father.
He said that when he visited her wife on June 16 he found her mother well. He claimed that his father-in-law threatened him with dire consequences, abused him and asked him to go.
He claimed that his wife was being held in wrongful detention by her father. He requested the court to issue a directive for the recovery of his wife.
The respondent’s counsel undertook to bring her to the court.
On Friday the woman was produced before the court where her statement was recorded in the chamber of the judge on the request of the counsels of both the sides.
She said that there were no restrictions on her movement and she was living with her parents as per her wishes.
She told the judge that she wanted to go with her parents.
The application was disposed of accordingly by the court.
