KARACHI: ARD demands permission for convention

KARACHI, July 18: The Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), Sindh, on Thursday criticized the government for its “delaying tactics” in granting permission for the ARD workers convention in Karachi.

ARD chief Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, addressing a press conference, said: “We want to remind the government that holding conventions is our democratic and legal right and we will go for it at any cost”

He referred to the meetings organized by other political parties at Nishtar Park Karachi and asked why the government had adopted a different policy toward the ARD.

He alleged that pre-polls rigging had started in the country. He was critical of the frequent transfers of DCOs in Sindh without consultation of the Nazims concerned. He claimed that Nazims were being targeted for not welcoming ministers.—PPI
