No work at subordinate courts

Published July 16, 2002

LAHORE, July 15: Lawyers at subordinate courts observed a complete strike on Monday in protest against proposed constitutional amendments.

While responding to a strike call given by Pakistan Bar Association, Lahore Bar Association members joined the strike with lawyers at the LHC.

The lower courts staff had a busy day in granting adjournments in cases pending before the court while judges kept sitting in their retiring rooms.

However, lawyers did appear in cases pertaining to bail matters. Cases in accountability courts were also adjourned without any further proceedings including that of Acting PML-N President Mukhdoom Javed Hashmi.
