DADU, July 15: Two police officials including a sub-inspector were arrested by the Rukkan police on Monday, after lodging an FIR against them on charges of torturing three citizens. The DPO, Dadu, has suspended both.

Three citizens of Sita Road town — Imdad Hussain, Mohammed Meeral Machhi, and Baghtoo — complained to the DPO, Dadu, Mohammed Tahir Naveed on Monday that a sub-inspector, Gul Sher Ahmed Sario, and an ASI, Abdul Razzaq Saand, of the Dadu town police station had raided their house on June 6 and had detained them illegally in a private house for three days.

They alleged that the policemen also robbed cash and other valuables from them and tortured them.

They further said that they managed to escape when the police officials went to sleep.

The DPO ordered the SHO, Rukkan police, to arrest the police officials and register a case against them.

The Rukkan police registered an FIR against Sub-inspector Gul Sher and ASI Abdul Razzaq under section 342, and 504 PPC on the charges of illegally detaining and torturing citizens.

The Rukkan police arrested them and sent them to a police lockup.

The DPO, Dadu, has suspended Sub-inspector Gul Sher and ASI Abdul Razzaq.
