KARACHI, July 14: Zone-V Whites and Zone-VI Whites recorded commanding victories in their opening matches in the KCCA inter-zonal Under-17 cricket tournament Saturday.
At the KCCA Stadium, Zone-V Whites defeated Zone-II Green by 73 runs — thanks to an allround show by Ammad Rafiq, who first hit 33 and later claimed three wickets for 29 runs to take the man of the match award.
At the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium, leg spinner Azhar Shah captured four wickets 34 runs and off-break bowler Nasir got 3-54 to bowl Zone-VI Whites to a 73 runs victory over Zone-II Green.
Waqas Haroon smashed 55 with four fours and two sixes for Zone-VI Whites.
