FC troops attacked

QUETTA, July 14: Gunmen seriously injured two personnel of Frontier Corps in Zeen top area of Loti gasfield in Dera Bugti district, official sources said here on Sunday.

According to the sources, armed men opened fire at an armed personnel carrier and injured Mohammad Jamal and Mohammad Akhtar, who were admitted to the Sui Gasfield Hospital. No arrest was reported.

After the incident, tension increased in the area as more FC troops were dispatched to Loti gasfield for the arrest of tribesmen involved in the firing.

Meanwhile, a Jamhoori Watan Party spokesman accused FC troops of attacking Perozani tribesmen. After withdrawing troops from Dera Bugti, the government has sent the troops in interior of the district for launching operation against the tribesmen and FC men had taken positions in the area, he said.
