Lawyers’ protest today

By Our Correspondent

VEHARI, July 14: The members of the Vehari District Bar Association will boycott the courts proceeding on Monday (today) to protest against the proposed constitutional amendments package.

The decision was taken at meeting held here on Sunday.

Speaking at the meeting, lawyers said that no government or individual had the right to amend the constitution. It was the prerogative of the elected parliament.

The lawyers through a resolution demanded that instead of amending the constitution, the government should hold free and fair elections and hand over power to the elected representatives without any further delay.
