HYDERABAD, July 14: The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), in collaboration with the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), here the other day held a seminar on glass bangle sector development.

The participanrs particularly discussed the ways to save gas used in furnace to reduce the cost of production.

The seminar followed a two-day initial study of glass bangle units in Hyderabad by Smeda consultant Shahid Chaudhry, general manager, technical services group.

While speaking on the occasion, HCCI representative Mohammad Madani urged the owners of the glass bangle units to cooperate with Smeda and the HCCI for the development of the sector.

SPSF-SB: A group of activists of the SPSF and the People’s Youth (SB) staged a demonstration and observed a hunger strike outside the press club here on Sunday.

They were protesting against the inordinate delay in the arrest of the murderers of Mir Murtaza Bhutto and his companions and continued detention of party leaders, Ali Ahmad Palepoto and Majeed Siyal.

Talking to newsmen, they said that on the one hand, the murderers of Murtaza Bhutto were roaming about freely and on the other, the leaders of the party had been arrested without any reason and were being tortured.
