HYDERABAD, July 14: The elected representatives of Hyderabad City Taluka have formed ‘Hyderabad Alliance’ (HA) which will put up candidates in the ensuing general elections scheduled for Oct 10.

The first meeting of the HA, held here on Saturday, was presided over by Abdul Qadeer Naghar (advocate), the Naib Nazim of the council. A large number of councillors, including women, attended the meeting and termed the formation of the alliance ‘need of the hour’.

They resolved to expand the alliance by inducting the elected representatives of the three talukas and social welfare organizations as well as the elite of the town.

The meeting decided that a city convention of the alliance would be held soon and its scope would be extended to the other tehsil, talukas and the districts.

The objectives of the alliance is to bring to the fore capable and honest leadership in the coming elections.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Naghar termed the condition of graduation for the contestants of the upcoming elections ‘a step in the right direction’.
