KARACHI, July 14: The Awami National Party (ANP), Sindh, has formed a committee to hold talks with other political parties and groups for electoral alliance at provincial level for the October elections.
The committee, headed by ANP central president Asfandyar Wali Khan, was formed on Sunday at a meeting held at the party’s Site office which was attended by members of the central committee, district presidents and secretaries.
Members of the committee are: Qamoos Gul Khattak, Farooq Bangash, Shahi Syed and Saman Khan.
Rejecting the death of Omar Asghar Khan as an outcome of suicide the meeting demanded judicial inquiry into the incident.
ANP Sindh president Qamoos Gul Khattak termed the proposed constitutional package a step towards unitary form of government which, he said, would replace the parliamentary form of government with the presidential system and will lead to the monopoly of the larger province in the Senate.
He said the government was not competent to amend the constitution.
