FAISALABAD, July 13: Additional District and Sessions Judge Shahid Rafiq on Saturday directed the prosecution to produce on July 18 record of the 30 accused involved in the killing of a man in a Chak Jhumra village.

The notice was issued on the bail application of the accused who were arrested on July 5 after residents of a Chak Jhumra village stoned Zahid Shah to death.

The accused submitted through advocate Mian Farooq Israr that they had not committed any offence and the police implicated them in the incident without any substance.

The contents of the FIR and allegations levelled against them were also baseless. According to the FIR, there were 1,100 to 1,200 people at the place where Zahid was stoned to death. However, police arrested 30 people and implicated them in the case to cover their negligence.

The bail application said that not a single person has been nominated as accused in the FIR. But police arrested 30 persons without any justification.

The accused are Amir Maqsood, Amjad Sadiq, Amir Shahzad, Kashif Ali, Imran Akram, Atif Jawed, Nadeem Qaisar, Muhammad Habib, Muhammad Ikhlaq, Faisal Saleem, Ghulam Ghaus, Sanaullah, Shahbaz, Muhammad Amir, Abdullah, Sohail Maqsood, Waris Ali, Muhammad Akram, Iqbal, Mushtaq Ahmed, Altaf Hussain, Abdul Khaliq, Falk Sher, Shah Nawaz, Saifullah, Rashid Iqbal, Muhammad Jameel, Naseer Ahmed, Imtiaz Mahmood and prayer leader Hafiz Faqir Ahmad.
