DHAKA, July 13: Dhaka stocks were mixed on Saturday as investors took profits on cement and food scrips, brokers said.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) benchmark index fell 0.51 points or 0.06 per cent to 813.12.

Gainers led losers by 71 to 55 with 33 remaining unchanged, DSE said in a market statement.

The DSE-20 index for selected blue chips also fell 10.66 points or 1.01 per cent to 1,038.37.

Azad, however, said most of the small cap shares gained in the session.

Modern Cement Limited fell 1.31pc to 7.50 taka on 38,500 shares valued at $3,880. Blue chip food processor AMCL fell 0.31 per cent to 392.00 taka on 3,340 shares valued at $22625.

Saturday’s overall turnover totalled $2.37 million, down $0.50 million from the previous trading session on Thursday.

Some 3.11 million shares changed hand on the day against 2.88 million in the previous session.—Reuters
