LAHORE, July 11: An alleged dacoit and murderer admitted to the Mayo Hospital escaped on Thursday morning after doping five policemen.

Naseer Ahmad involved allegedly in a number of murder and dacoity cases was arrested by Sialkot police after an encounter 20 days ago. During an exchange of fire, the accused received bullets in his leg and he was shifted to the Orthopaedic Ward of the Mayo Hospital. ASI Zafar Iqbal and four constables Ashraf, Attaullah, Saleem and Muneer Ahmad of Sialkot were deputed for the accused.

On Thursday morning, the accused doped them by giving them juice and escaped with the help of a relative.

TWO HELD: The Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force and the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) in a joint operation arrested two Nigerians from a local hotel and recovered four kilogramme heroin from their possession.—APP
