Pearl case concludes, verdict on 15th

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, July 10: The trial of accused in the Daniel Pearl kidnapping-murder case concluded in the central jail here on Wednesday, and Judge Syed Ali Ashraf Shah set July 15 for the verdict.

Defence counsel Rai Basheer Ahmed prayed to the court to acquit all the accused as the prosecution had failed to prove any offence it had claimed to have been committed by them.

Chief prosecutor Raja Qureshi said that all the evidences against the accused had provided solid grounds to convict them.

He demanded capital punishment for the principal accused, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, and co-accused Salman Saqib, Fahad Naseem and Adil Sheikh.
