Farmers want action against SDO

NAWABSHAH, July 10: The growers of Jheemal minor, Nawaz Dahri minor, Dhoro Naro minor, Khiyaryon minor, Panjochan minor, and Chan Babu distributary have demanded the Sindh governor to take action against the SDO, Nusrat division, who was not doing anything to help them out regarding the shortage of water.

They were led by the president, Jheemal Minor Abadgar Tanzeem, Abdul Sattar Rind.

They said that thousands of acres of agricultural land was being destroyed due to the non-availability of water since the last three months.

They said that they had made several complaints to the SDO but he said that he was observing the situation and could not do anything.

DEMO HELD: The majority of the members of the District Council, Nawabshah, at its session on Tuesday observed a sit-in in the hall in protest against the irrigation officials for not supplying water. They then walked out and boycotted the session against the officials under the district government for not solving the genuine problems of the citizens.

The session was being held under the chairmanship of the convener, Khalid Hussain Channa.
