KARACHI: New CS assumes office

KARACHI, July 5: Former Sindh chief secretary Javed Ashraf Husain has been posted with immediate effect as secretary affairs of Kashmir, Northern Areas and State and Frontier Division, Islamabad, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Division on Thursday.

Mr Husain, a BS-22 officer of the District Management Group, had assumed office of the Sindh chief secretary on June 3, 2000. Earlier, he served the province in different capacities, including additional chief secretary (development), secretary of different departments, divisional commissioner and deputy commissioner.

Mr Husain who handed over charge to new Chief Secretary K. B. Rind on Thursday briefed him about the ongoing projects.

Mr Rind appreciated his services to the province. On this occasion, secretaries of different departments also called on the outgoing chief secretary who expressed gratitude for their cooperation.

IG Sindh Syed Kamal Shah also called on the new chief secretary and briefed him on the law and order situation.
