HYDERABAD, July 3: Hyderabad city taluka Nazim Moinuddin Shaikh has directed the anti-encroachment committee and staff not to harass anyone while removing encroachments.
Presiding over a meeting of the committee at his office here on Wednesday, the taluka Nazim said the purpose of the anti-encroachment drive was to remove only those encroachments which were creating problems for pedestrians and hindering the smooth flow of traffic.
Mr Shaikh said no discrimination should be made in removing the encroachments as purpose of the drive was not to render anyone jobless. He, however, said no business activities would be allowed on footpaths or roads.
He asked Nazims and councillors of the union councils of his area to cooperate with the anti-encroachment committees.
The chairman of the anti-encroachment committee, Yaqoob Bhatti, Nazims of the union councils, Tanveer Siddiqui and Babu Ilyas, Naib Nazims, Iqbal Shaikh, Ms Sumaira Ashrafi, Ghaffar Shah, Usman Abbasi, Shahab Munshi, and some members of the city council attended the meeting.
Earlier, the city taluka Nazim, met a delegation of the Motorc-ycle Dealers Association, at his office here on Tuesday, who told him about the alleged excesses of the motor vehicle branch of the directorate of excise and taxation.
SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission, announced here on Wednesday that the commission interviewed candidates for the post of assistant professor of orthodentistry (BPS-18) in the health department, and found Qamarun Nisa Memon, suitable for the job and recommended her name for appointment.
