Three die as wagon rams into tree

MULTAN, July 2: Three people were killed and eight others injured when a wagon rammed into a roadside tree near Shujabad on Monday night.

The accident took place while saving a cart near the Shujabad railway crossing. Haji Sharif Zafar, Malik Abdul Aziz and wagon conductor Ismail died on the spot. Eight people, including five women, sustained injuries and were rushed to the tehsil headquarters hospital.

Later, one Khaleel was shifted to the Nishter Hospital due to his serious condition.

JI RALLY: The women’s wing of the Jamaat-i-Islami staged a rally here on Tuesday to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren and to condemn policy U-turn by the government over the subject.

Scores of women and children participated in the rally which started from Jamaat’s district office and terminated at Kalima Chowk. Women wing’s Punjab vice-president Rafia Fatima led the rally.
