ISLAMABAD, June 29: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat, Islamabad, has signed a Rs1.7 million agreement with an insurance firm, to provide medical insurance cover to about 1,534 employees of the secretariat and their families.

According to a press release, an agreement was signed here on Saturday between the Council Secretariat and Shaheen Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Shaheen Foundation.

The AJK Council Secretariat joint secretary, S. M. Junaid, and Shaheen Insurance Company branch manager, Khalid Mahmood Sarwar, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Initially a one-year agreement has been signed to medically insure the employees. Under the agreement, the AJK council employees will have the facilities of medical treatment in different hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
