Mubashir shines with bat, Aftab with ball


KARACHI, June 28: Mubashir Ahmed hit a fine hundred and paceman Aftab Alam snapped up six wickets in Zone-V Whites’ massive 196 runs victory over Zone-VII Blues in the KCCA Inter- zonal Under-19 cricket tournament at KCCA Stadium Thursday.

Mubashir clubbed eight boundaries and two sixes in his 107 to power Zone-V Whites to 265 for four.

At PCB Academy Ground, National Stadium Zone-I Blues defeated Zone-VI Blues by 47 runs thanks to an all-round show by Omair Ahmed.

Off-spinner Tariq Murad captured five wickets for 26 runs as Zone-I Blues mustered 224 all out in 49.4 overs. Omair Ahmed made a sedate 50 with five 4s and Asad Iqbal contributed 47 with four hits to the boundary.

Zone-V Blues in response were bowled out for 177 in 47.4 overs. Leg spinner Sami Faridi grabbed 5-39 in ten overs.

Zone-V Whites 265-4 in 50 overs (Mubashir Ahmed 107, Mansoor Ahmed 71 not out, Talib Ali 30)
